Every month for almost two years we’ve held Maker Faire Meetups. These gatherings are open to the public and feature interesting speakers as well as news from the Makers Guild and Maker Faire. This month is no exception.
On Monday, April 20, we’ll be meeting at the Central Library downtown. Our two speakers will be Clayton, a 3D designer and printer craftsman, and Nick, a robotics PhD with many robot tales to tell. We’ll also be giving an update on Maker Faire. Details about the event can be found on our Meetup page and you can learn more about our speakers after the link.
Nick is a recent graduate of UCSD but we’ll let him present his background at the meetup. For now we just want to entice you with the project we wanted him to exhibit at Maker Faire. It’s such a cool example of out-of-the-box thinking, robotics, open source development & digital fabrication that it screams “Maker!”
Clayton in a very different way shows his maker chops. Again, we’ll leave the details to him but let us show you a touch of his magic. Imagine that you were asked to make 3D structures of buildings that no longer exist and all you had to work from were old drawings and photos. Imagine no more. Clayton does it!
Come join us at the Central Library to hear their making stories.
Lastly, please Like our Facebook Maker Faire Event Page, it’s Oct 3 & 4!
