Hello Tinkering Studio… and a Little Caterpillar

Have you ever wanted to learn how to make your own screen print – frame and all? What about simple automata? Flashing LED “flux capacitors”? An origami Yoda? There are a plethora of places around San Diego that will share with you the tools and knowledge you need to make whatever you dream up. The Tinkering Studio, located at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center in Balboa Park, is one such place. At the Tinkering Studio, they’ll teach families, kids, and adults of all ages how to make fun objects, often from items or materials that are easy to find or make at home – so the making doesn’t stop when you leave. Giving the confidence needed to explore hands-on making and DIY creativity is one thing Maker Faire San Diego is all about! In the video above, we meet Ashanti, Lead Tinkering Studio Coordinator, as she shows us some really neat automata made at the Tinkering Studio.
