Four Cupcakes in Process

Count Them: Four Cupcakes at Various Stages of Completion

Today was another big day. Huddled on the cement floor we’re riveting bent sheets of steel for our fourth base. On the far right is our third base waiting for floor and rim which our second base on the table at the far left already has. What has everyone else so engrossed in on our first base? They’re planning to prototype the steel rod frame of our first cupcake’s top.

While this was going on indoors we had another crew riding around, enjoying their first rides. While it was great fun it was also with a purpose that they rode, and rode and rode. We wanted to test the longevity of our battery life which turned out to be between 30 – 40 minutes of drive time.

The final tin was assembled by Matt W, Margie and Matt G. All the while, with lots of planning by Paul and Joe we agreed on a design which Dan then welded together. Rob, Uyen and Sam cut and assembled plywood to make the rim rings and install them on tins. In the end, with a myriad of assistance from Ally, Jane, Colton, and others we made great strides!
